Hey faith-based friends and family, blessings to you today. Today I have an object lesson for you. It feels a little bit like kindergarten. Maybe you did show-and-tell. And this is my object. I'm not sure if you can tell what it is from the video. It's called a pharaoh rod. And you can strike this metal rod with certain objects or instruments and it will throw a spark. Maybe you've seen these before. I take it when I go backpacking sometimes. But I've really been thinking a lot about Paul's word to Timothy in 2nd Timothy. And he says to fan into flame the gift that was given through the laying on of hands. And I just think about this little tool that throws a spark and how I want to flame. I can't conjure up the spark. But just this tiny spark, depending on what it's aimed at, will change the impact, right? If I just throw sparks in the air nothing happens at all. But if I have a tinder bundle, if I have something, if I have like a rag soaked in gasoline and I throw a spark on it, it just catches fire, right? And I say this saying I want to encourage us as the recipients of the spark to be preparing our hearts. Like our hearts the tinder bundle. Be preparing it. Be cultivating humility and gratitude, love, and kindness. I just want our hearts to be so hungry for the Lord so that when a little spark comes, it just bursts into flame. And what I mean is let's prepare our hearts before we read God's Word. Let's prepare our hearts before we worship, whether that's corporate worship or individual worship. Prepare our hearts as we pray just to be attentive. So as the Lord speaks and moves and stirs, the soil of our hearts is just so ignitable. It's like we need that sign that says caution. You know like risk of danger because it's so flammable. Because our hearts are so ready and attentive to the Lord. So blessings to you as you just guard your heart, as you prepare your heart, as you faint into flame. What the Lord is doing. Spiritual hunger, spiritual maturity. Will the Lord just throw more than sparks and would you faint into flame. Would you steward what he's entrusted to you, cultivating what's in your heart, but receptive and ready, receiving it all as a gift from him. Blessings to you.
