In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus lays out for us what it means to love, serve, and sacrifice just like Him!

Well good morning everybody. It's a little windy here today so I hope that you can hear me, but I wanted to take just a few minutes and talk about the next study that we're going to do. It's in Matthew chapter 5, and in Matthew chapter 5 we find this beautiful group of teaching called the Beatitudes. But it's not just Matthew chapter 5, it's Matthew chapter 5, 6, and 7 where Jesus lays out what we call the Sermon on the Mount. And I really want to encourage you if you haven't spent time in Matthew 5, 6, and 7, I would encourage you to really dig into those three chapters because if you want to see what a follower of Jesus should look like, not necessarily how we're supposed to act, vote, think, all the things that religion tells us. You got to do this, you got to do this, you got to do this. Religion is about check marks. A relationship with Christ is about our nature. It's about our being. It's about the way that we see Him and the way that we see the world and the way that we see the world through a gospel lens and what our life should look like. So before we get into Matthew chapter 5 and talk about the Beatitudes, I want to encourage you to sit down and in one sitting read Matthew chapter 5, 6, and 7. It is a beautiful outline of what a follower of Jesus looks like. That if we can really get down Matthew 5, 6, and 7 in our lives, how we can, just by the way that we live, be what Paul talks about in Romans chapter 12. In Romans chapter 12 where Paul says we're to be a living sacrifice honoring the Lord. Jesus lays that out for us in Matthew 5, 6, and 7. So I want to encourage you today, get your Bible out, read Matthew 5, 6, and 7. If I can help you in any way, if I can pray for you in any way to help you be that person that Jesus wants you to be so that He can shine through you, shoot me a message, let me know. God bless. Have a great day.
