Good morning and welcome to Praying the Bible. We are at Psalm 19, one of my favorite psalms, and normally we would pray through all 14 verses, but we're just going to look at the first four. And I will mention that I'm reading from the New Living Translation, so there is some differences between this and what you might be familiar with, say, with the New King James or something. And but I'm not going to go ahead, I'm not going to mention that while we're reading or praying. I don't want to break that up, but just be aware that in verse 3, it's a different translation, and I encourage you to go look at that, the New King James or something else if you'd like to see the difference. But let's read through the first four verses of Psalm 19 and we'll begin to pray. The heavens proclaim the glory of God, the skies display His craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak, night after night they make Him known. They speak without a sound or word, their voice is never heard, yet their message has gone throughout the earth and their words to all the world. Lord God, Your creation is a magnificent display of Your power. It is an expression of Your character, it is an expression of Your love, and it is a wonderful, amazing proclamation of Your glory as the psalmist tells us here. This is a psalm of Your servant David who had such a close relationship with You and recognized that the creation is something that You gave us to teach us about You. The heavens proclaim the glory of God, the skies display Your craftsmanship. Lord, we look into the night sky and see a magnificent display of seemingly endless space with stars and planets, and Lord God, all of that put into place just by Your word, Heavenly Father. Day after day there is a continuation of this expression. Paul tells us that there is no excuse for those who claim that there is no God for not only creation but within themselves, Lord God. They speak night after night, they make known day after day, they proclaim the majesty and the wonder and the greatness of God. This same God who created all these things, created this immense and amazing universe, has relationship with us in Jesus Christ. Lord, there is no sound, there is no word that they make, it's not as if the skies nightly spell out things with an alphabet, but they do spell out the truth just simply by being visible, that we can see what You have done, Lord God. This is so foolish, so ridiculous to suggest that this was all by chance, that this creation was something that came into being by chance or the big bang that happened without any direction whatsoever, Lord God, but we know that You spoke these things into existence. Lord, even though there is not a reader board out there in the night sky, even though there is not a voice that comes out each morning to tell us that this is Your creation, Your message, the message of Your creation has gone throughout the earth and there are words to all the world. Lord, there is no excuse on the part of those who reject You, there is no excuse on the part of those who will not accept that You are the creator and sustainer of the universe. Lord, in the book of Colossians it tells us that Jesus Christ is the one through whom all things were created, for whom all things were created, and by whom all things are upheld. And Lord, we look at the creation, we look at the night sky, we look at the sun rising each morning and we are reminded of Your majesty, Your glory, Your power, Your greatness, and we thank You, Lord God, that You have seen fit to come to us in human form in the person Jesus Christ and through Him have established a way of relationship with You, this incredible, amazing creator, this unbelievably powerful God that has relationship with us in Jesus Christ. Lord, we pray Your blessings this morning, Lord, give us strength to walk out this day in the joy of Your salvation as we acknowledge Your glory and Your majesty. We pray these things in Jesus' name, Amen.
