I’ve missed ya’ll. For the last few days, I have been sick. But during that time I was thinking. Here’s what I’ve been thinking about and what I’ve learned.

Hey Faith Base, it is good to see you again. It's been a few days since I've posted because I have been down, sick, miserably sick, and you know as well as I do it brings discomfort, it brings inconvenience, it's definitely not the most pleasant experience, but even in those moments we get an opportunity to shift our focus, right, from the challenge and the struggle that comes with being down, with being sick, to the potentials for growth and the resilience and maybe just resting in God's presence while our healing story unfolds and so I wanted to share some encouragement with you because in times of sickness and illness it's natural for our spirits to become weary, right, it's natural for us to be down, but it's a great reminder that even in our weakest moments God's strength is made perfect. Our bodies feel vulnerable but our souls can find strength and comfort and peace in the unfailing and enduring faithful love of God and so in a season of healing it's important that we trust his provision and his restoration. You know the Bible says, surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him and afflicted, but he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was on him and by his wounds we are healed. Those verses are found in Isaiah chapter 53 verses 4 and 5, talking awesomely about our ultimate healing but I think there's some things that we can pull because in these verses we can find comfort and hope. They remind us that that Jesus in his sacrifice on the cross bore not only our sins but also our pain and suffering and so we have a Savior who understands the weight of physical ailment and burden and you know can sympathize and empathize with us in our times of weakness. Through his wounds we find healing not just physically but ultimately and most importantly spiritually and emotionally and so as you navigate seasons of discomfort, as you go through times of maybe discouragement and sickness where you are where you are down, recognize it's a temporary season, recognize that our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made, that God has blessed us with the capacity to heal and to be restored and and I find comfort in that and in the knowledge of knowing that that God is with us. He's not only creator, he's sustainer, he guides recovery, he grants strength, he perseveres with us and so in moments of weakness we surrender ourselves not to the sickness but to God, not to the anxieties but to God, to his love and his faithfulness and we cast our care upon him and we are not alone. So seek his presence, rely on his healing, may your hearts when you go through those seasons be filled with gratitude and compassion, may we have a proper perspective that that we might be sick for a short season, for just a few days, we might be uncomfortable for a little bit but ultimately God is bringing through restoration and eternally God has restored us in Jesus Christ. So be encouraged, let your spirits be strengthened, embrace these moments as opportunities to draw closer to God, to rest in his love, to trust in his perfect timing and may your healing journey, whether it's now or to be, may it be a testament to his faithfulness and a reminder to the unwavering presence of God in our lives. Certainly when you're sick, let it be an opportunity to Netflix and chill but more importantly let it be an opportunity to remind yourself and to find strength once again in God and God alone and let him be the restorer in our lives. I've missed you, it's good to be back, be great, be blessed and we'll see you next time.
