Good morning, we are praying the Bible in Psalm 18 and beginning with verse 25. Let me read a few verses there and we'll pray together this morning. Verse 25, With the merciful you show yourself merciful, with a blameless man you will show yourself blameless, with the pure you will show yourself pure, and with the devious you will show yourself shrewd. For you will save the humble people but you will bring down haughty looks. Heavenly Father, when we are merciful we are emulating you. When we are loving and kind and gentle we emulate you. We are reminded that Jesus told us that if we fail to forgive others we won't be forgiven and the reason for that Lord I think sometimes we wonder well how can be if we are in you Lord Jesus if we are clothed with your righteousness if we are a new creation forgiveness is something that will flow from us not easily necessarily but it is something that will be part of our new creation character Lord we are merciful because we are a new creation in you Lord we are blameless because we are a new creation in Jesus Christ so Lord when it says here that you will show mercy to those who are merciful it is simply reminding us that we have access to all those blessings we have the the right even as those who are found in Jesus Christ to your mercy now Lord it doesn't mean that we've earned it once again it's all because of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but we do just as he has the right to your mercy just as he has the right to your fellowship we have that same thing Lord God so when we are walking in truth you bless us when we are walking in mercy you bless us you watch over us you show your purity to those who live a life of purity and Lord it doesn't mean that you are impure in any way but that you reveal yourself to those who are living a life of Christ likeness who seek purity who seek truth Lord God and so we want to be those who have a strong understanding a strong connection to your purity that we see that we understand what you are and who you are Lord God but with those who are hypocritical who are who deceive you will you will reveal things to them that you see fit to Lord to either bring them to judgment or to bring them to the death of the old man that they might be a new creation so your shrewdness Lord God is simply wisdom it's the wisdom of God expressing itself through us what we would call circumstance and things that take place in this realm Lord God but you guide all events to bring about your desired purpose and your desired in you will save the humble Lord God and we pray that we are humble before you again always recognizing that we have the right of fellowship because of Jesus Christ and that we would not be haughty that we would not be concerned with being brought down Lord if there is a circumstance where we stumble and you use that to bring us back to you may we embrace that fully and be completely submitted and humble before you Lord God so bless us this day I pray watch over us and guide us help us to understand your purity help us to understand your character Lord in all aspects I pray may we be a beacon of light to those around us expressing the joy of salvation in Jesus Christ we pray this in Jesus name amen
