It’s an all too familiar companion in our lives BUT it doesn’t have to have the final word. Take a listen and be encouraged by the power and peace you have available to you….even in stress-filled circumstances.

Well, hey, Faith Base, happy Thursday. I wanted to hop on here and share with you a word about stress because it has become all too familiar of a companion in our daily lives. It manifests itself in so many ways and forms, pressure at work, personal conflicts, constant demands physically on our body. And while stress, I acknowledge, can be overwhelming and draining, I think it's essential to remember that we have the power to find peace even in the midst of it all. I wanted to take a moment in this video devotion to explore some ideas and ways that we can navigate through stressful times and discover a sense of tranquility that goes beyond our circumstances. You know, in times of stress, I think it's easy to feel overwhelmed. I think it's easy to feel alone. But take heart, as Jesus would say, you are not alone in your struggles. Remember that God is with you every step of the way. He understands the burdens you carry. And beyond that, he's ready to lighten the load. In Matthew chapter 11, verses 28 through 30, Jesus invites us saying, come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Paul will echo something similar to that in Philippians chapter 4, 6, and 7 when he says don't be anxious about anything. But in every situation, by prayer and petition and with thanksgiving, present your requests to God and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Both of those verses remind us that God is not only aware of our stress, but he offers to us a peace that surpasses it, that moves us beyond it. All we have to do is bring our worries before him with a heart of gratitude and a spirit of trust. And so as we journey through the day, the week, the months, whatever, the year, right? Stress may continue to be part of our daily existence. I'm not saying it won't be. However, we can choose to not let it define us. Instead, we can find solace in the presence of God. We can cast our anxieties upon him. We can embrace the peace that he freely offers. Stress doesn't have to have the final say in our lives because we have the power to rise above it, knowing that in God we can find rest and tranquility and we can experience his peace in the midst of it all. I hope that encourages you. Be great, be blessed. We'll see you next time.
