back again Psalm 18 verse 16 he sent from above he took me he drew me out of many waters he delivered me from my strong enemy from those who hated me for they were too strong for me they confronted me in the day of my calamity but the Lord was my support he also brought me out into a broad place he delivered me because he delighted in me heavenly father we thank you just dropping all the way down to the last verse we read you delight in us Lord and I am always so amazed heavenly father that you would desire a relationship with me with any of us and it is in the presence it is in the participation in Jesus Christ that as we come to this saving knowledge of Jesus and have this relationship with Jesus where our sins have been forgiven to his death upon the cross for my sins for the sins of each people who may be praying with me this morning Lord God that those sins have been washed away that if we confess our sins you're faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness so that in Jesus Christ you might delight in us Lord God you from your throne in heaven take us and draw us out of many waters you protect us and watch over us Lord God we are delivered from our strong enemies in the strongest enemy that we are delivered from of course is the accuser of Satan himself and Lord God he is there is no comparison whatsoever he's not some sort of a an opponent that has parities of some sort with you not at all he's a created being he is a deceiver and would have people to believe that he is somehow in the same category as God but he is not he is simply a created creature a something that you brought into being and you have absolute and complete control over him in every way Lord God so that we are delivered from those enemies from those who hate us and as a Satan who hates us more than anything else they are strong for us but not for you Lord God we can be confronted by our enemies in our day of calamity and Satan can be an accuser that comes to us when we've fallen when we stumbled and tell us over and over how unworthy we are yes Lord God we are unworthy it is only in Jesus Christ because the Lord is our support it is he who brings us out into a broad place and you deliver us because you delight in us Lord let us never forget that in Jesus Christ we are your delight bless us this day with that understanding we pray in Jesus name Amen
