Faithbase

Good morning and welcome to praying the Bible. We're gonna start with Psalm 18 7 this morning. Then the earth shook and trembled the foundation of the hills also quaked and were shaken because he was angry smoke went up from his nostrils and devouring fire from his mouth coals were kindled by it he bowed the heavens also and came down with darkness under his feet and he rode upon a cherub and flew he flew upon the wing wings of the wind he made darkness a secret place his canopy around him was dark waters and thick clouds of the skies from the brightness before him his thick clouds passed with hailstones and coals of fire Heavenly Father we thank you that you are the God of creation Lord we know that you use creation as one of the means of your intervention or participation in this realm in which you've placed us Lord we also know that these metaphorical pictures are drawn from creation these these pictures tell us for one thing that your presence your activity is manifest in the the things that happen in this created realm and Lord we're reminded of what says in the book of Job about Leviathan and the way that that dragon like creature whatever was fire went forth from us from his mouth and from his nostrils and and Lord that's whatever again whatever was was a picture of your presence in a picture of your power and your might and so what we are reminded of in this whole section Lord God is that you are a powerful and mighty God that the earth does shake as your command that people's lives shake at your command that the foundations are shaken and that the only thing that isn't shaken is your kingdom that we have received this kingdom that is unshakable the foundations will never be moved Lord God but your anger can be manifest in the destruction of entire empires destruction of entire nations and people groups or it can be manifest in the shaking and the turmoil that is brought to someone who has turned away from you that their personal life can be shaken in a way that that would not be the case for someone who is in relationship with you Lord Jesus we know that our foundations stand firm and that we can cultivate that that solidity through a life of obedience to your teaching Lord God so we know Heavenly Father that when you're at at I guess that at work I suppose we say in this creation that we should recognize that Heavenly Father we could recognize your actions in in the weather and so forth but we also recognize your actions in the lives of people and we pray Lord God that as you do this that you express this power and this might that we as Christians would acknowledge it and that you would use that to bring people who do not acknowledge you into a place of saying yes God you are here you exist and your son Jesus the Eternal Son made flesh is the only way to salvation so I pray Lord God that we can be evangelists a full-orbed evangelist that we would not simply try to narrow it down to just maybe a piece of the gospel but we would speak truth about all things that you are the God who reigns and rules in this universe that Jesus Christ the one who brought everything into being and superintends every event in this realm in which we live is the only way to salvation so we pray Lord God that we would be very quick to express faith in you in all aspects of your movement and participation in this created realm so I pray your blessings on us today as we go forth to express that truth to live that truth knowing Lord that you are watching over us and all things we pray your blessings in Jesus name amen
