Hey folks, we are coming to the end of 2023, and so I want to spend just a little bit of time in reflection and prayer, and I hope that you can walk along with me in that, that a lot has happened this year, and we are stepping into a new year in 2024, and a lot may happen in this year. And so it's important, it is important for us to pause and really consider with the Lord, not just, you know, reflecting and journaling or whatever it is that you might do, talking about what's happened this year, but really sitting with God and saying, hey, Lord, what do you want me to notice about 2023? And for this upcoming year, God, where are you leading me? So here's my questions for you in this reflection time. Here's what I want you to consider. At the end of 2024, and all that you might know about that's going to happen, who do you want to be, or who is God inviting you to be at the end of 2024? Are there things that we want to put in place this year that can help us get to the person we want to be? Closer to Christ? Yes, hopefully. Closer to our Heavenly Father? You know, deeper prayer life? And maybe it's, you know, maybe you want to grow in your career. Maybe you want to build better relationships with your family members or with your neighbors or something like this. What are the things we're going to do as we get closer to that? And then how have we grown in that this last year? If we're going to talk and think about things that are going to help us get to the person we want to be at the end of 2024, how have we done that this year? And maybe that's gone kind of poorly. Let's be honest about that. Let's listen to the Lord and really consider where our life is in just kind of this in-between space, right at the end of 2023 and the beginning of something new. So, friends, as you go to prayer, this is the psalm that I hope you sit with, okay? Just to give us something to chew on and really consider with the Lord. David's prayer in Psalm 139, verse 23. You've probably heard this. It's, Search me, O God, and know my heart. Test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting. His way.
