Greetings, everyone. I'm back. My name is Tonya Lee Carey with Faith Basin. I'm the founder of God's Freedom Fighters International. Thank you for returning back and all the newbies. Hey! Thank you for checking out what the Lord has placed on my heart today. Today the title of this short message, which will be in two parts, is called The Gift of Conviction and I'll share why the Lord places on my heart and it's to be in two parts, but I want to open up in prayer. Father God, we thank you. We thank you for this day that you have made and yes, we can rejoice and be glad in it. That we continue to decrease and you increase in our lives, Lord. We desperately, all of us, need you. Give us bigger ears to hear what you are saying this day, this moment, that you have made. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray. Amen. I recently experienced something that really helped. It humbled me. It showed me that I need to continue to pray out the scriptures, Psalms 139, 23, 24, and it's really all of us, actually, if you want to get closer to the Lord and please him by faith. It says, search me, O Lord, and know my heart and see if there's any wicked way in me. Investigate my life and that truly is my prayer because we will not experience the gift of conviction without it. We will be numb to any and all sin if there is not a continual reaching out relationship, personal relationship, with the Lord God Jesus. And conviction is not to make us feel like we are ashamed or we just this bad person. No, we momentarily move out away from the will of God, but when we experience conviction, it brings us back to the will of God because we sense it in our heart and then we repent. And it could be unforgiveness, it could still be some residue of unforgiveness. I experienced that recently and I said, Lord, help me. Help me. He's our helper. And so it showed me that conviction, it just reminded me that conviction is a gift because without it, there is a disconnect. There's no sense of when we do wrong, we know we do wrong, but there's no conviction of it. So why should we repent, turn from what we was doing and return back into his will? It made me feel inside that I need to apologize to someone because I did not know I still had a little sense or residue of unforgiveness. You know, see, we can forgive or we say we forgive, but when we live out this life, especially as I'm sitting in this seat and speaking my heart, I have a personal relationship with the Lord. 30 years investment and yet I have to still continue to repent for whatever is shown to me that desperately I still need him.
