Welcome back to praying the Bible we're going to return to the means that we began with which was just to pray a certain portion of each chapter and Psalms and and I feel like the previous three days was something of a failed experiment as I as you recall pray through the whole Psalm oh actually most of the time we had the first three verses done earlier but pray through the whole Psalm and then edited it into about three or four minute sections and I didn't like that after it was done I didn't like that so we're gonna go back to this approach I'll simply read through Psalm this Psalm 17 and read the entirety of the Psalm it's actually 15 verses we'll read that and then come back and begin to pray Psalm 17 a prayer of David here a just cause O Lord attend to my cry give ear to my prayer which is not from deceitful lips let my vindication come from your presence let your eyes look on the things that are upright you have tested my heart you have visited me in the night he have tried me and I found nothing I have purposed that my mouth should not transgress concerning the works of men by the word of your lips I've kept away from the paths of the destroyer uphold my steps in your paths that my footsteps may not slip I have called upon you for you will hear me O God incline your ear to me and hear my speech show your marvelous lovingkindness by your right hand O you who save those who trust in you from those who rise up against them keep me as the apple of your eye hide me under the shadow of your wings from the wicked who oppress me from my deadly enemies who surround me they have closed up their fat hearts with their mouths they speak proudly they have now surrounded us in our steps they have set their eyes crouching down to the earth as a lion is eager to tear his prey and like a young lion lurking in secret places arise O Lord confront him cast him down deliver my life from the wicked with your sword with your hand from men O Lord from the men of the world who have their portion in this life and whose belly you fill with your hidden treasure they are satisfied the children and leave the rest of their profession possession for their babes as for me I will see your face in righteousness I shall be justified when I awake in your likeness heavenly father we pray that you will hear us as we come before you with a just cause and our cause is only just insofar as we adhere to your scripture and walk even as Jesus walked to live a life that is pleasing to him to build our life our house on the foundation of Jesus teaching in that case we do have a just cause we can stand before you and say Lord I am in the best ability to my best of my ability living according to your word and we pray that you'll attend to our cry and give ear to her prayer as we pray not from deceitful lips Lord you see the innermost thoughts you understand everything about us there's nothing we can hide from you we should come before you in complete and absolute honesty Lord so without deceit on our lips Lord we pray for your blessings today that you would hear us that you would see us that you would search our hearts and souls your scripture says divides between soul and spirit cutting even to the marrow of the bone in the sense Lord God that there is nothing that is not addressed by your word nothing that is somehow left unattended by your scripture and that your Holy Spirit will take the Bible take your word your written word and make it alive in our heart and divide us divide the the every action and every thought and every every thing that we do Lord God will be divided to show what is of you and what is of not of you Lord God so we pray that you will look upon us that you'll vindicate us that you'll lift us and strengthen us in this life that you will look upon us as those who are upright as we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ Lord I pray that your blessings would be evident this morning and I pray that each one of us Heavenly Father can come before you in this fashion in Jesus clear of heart and mind nothing hidden from you Lord that we might be vindicated that you might lift us and give us your blessings to this day we pray this in Jesus name Amen
