I love to find “rainbows” in everyday things. I firmly believe that when we open our eyes to deeper meanings we are reminded and empower by eternal promises. I know it’s just a haircut - but can it be more?

Hey friends, it is Friday. It is the Friday before Christmas, right? It's Christmas Eve, Eve, Eve, I don't know. I don't know if you can tell from the videos I've been posting, but I have been to the barber and it's amazing how a simple act of grooving can uplift your spirits and bring a sense of renewal. My wife also says it took about 10 years off, so it's an awesome thing. But I wanted to take a moment and just explore with you the deeper significance. I know I do this on Simple Things, but the deeper significance that we can experience that reminds us of some essential things, specifically God's faithfulness in our lives. It's faith in the everyday and just having our eyes open for those mindful moments and those teachable moments, because in the midst of our busy lives, I say it often, we can get weighed down by burdens. We can get lost in the challenges that we face. But just as a haircut can bring this fresh feeling, I want to remind you today, God wants to bring renewal, rejuvenation, and a fresh feeling to our souls as well. In fact, he longs to restore our joy and our peace and our confidence. And when we take time to care for ourselves physically, it's a reminder, right? I've said this often, but it also opens up an opportunity for God to work in our hearts and our minds. And so embrace the fresh feeling that a haircut can bring, but also allow it to remind you of the fresh work that God wants to do in your lives. I kid you not, there are rainbows. If you get the metaphor, there are rainbows all around us. The Bible says, create in me a clean heart, oh God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. That is Psalm 51 in verse 10. It is a powerful verse and a beautiful song that reminds us that God is the ultimate source of renewal. And just as a haircut can transform our physical appearance, God desires to transform our hearts and to transform our minds. In fact, God wants to cleanse us from within and remove any negativity or weariness that we might have accumulated from our life that we're living in this world. And when we surrender our lives to him, he brings a fresh perspective. He brings a renewed spirit to us. He restores to us once again, our hope. And so maybe you're like me, you've just had it growing and you haven't had a chance to get there. And you wanted that fresh feeling of a new haircut today in the midst of that. Take a moment and thank God and be reminded of his faithfulness and how he brings renewal into our lives. And remember that just as he cares about the smallest details in our lives, he also cares about our wellbeing, our mental wellbeing, our spiritual wellbeing. And he brings a freshness and a sense of purpose to it all. He brings joy to our journey and this simple act of self-care serves as a reminder. It is faith in the everyday. It serves as a reminder of his abundance, his love, his grace, his purpose, his protection, his renewal, his consistent faithfulness and presence in every aspect of our lives. I hope that is an encouragement to you today. I hope as you spend more time with me in these videos, you recognize I love and want to encourage you to find faith in everyday things. Because with our eyes open, we will see life differently because it will be framed within the will of God, within the power of God, within the spirit, the grace, the redemption of God and everything becomes a moment of teaching, a moment of learning, a moment of encouragement, a moment of reminder that God is with us always. Be great, be blessed. We'll see you next time, friends.
