Another one of my favorite hymns is O Come All Ye Faithful. Again, one of the reasons I love the classic Christmas hymns is because of the theology that it teaches. It's not just about the emotions of the season and those kind of things, it's about teaching specifically who Jesus is. And I love this last stanza of O Come All Ye Faithful. It says, Yea, Lord we greet thee, born this happy morning, and here's why, Jesus, thee be all glory given, word of the Father now in flesh appearing. That is such a meaningful and foundational statement for our faith that the writer makes here, that Jesus is the word of the Father now in flesh appearing. See, when we call him the Emmanuel, the God with us, John in John chapter 1 talks about the Word became flesh. That's what Christmas is all about. You've heard me say it, the most important event in the world history is the crucifixion of Jesus. But we couldn't have the crucifixion of Jesus without the birth of Jesus, without the Word of the Father becoming flesh. And the writer says that's why all the faithful come and worship. So I want to encourage you today, worship the Father, worship the Son, worship the Holy Spirit, worship the fact that our God came down in the flesh for us, to love us, to serve us, to show us the cost of our sins, to show us what it means to live a life of holiness for the Father, and do it so a way that other people can see Jesus in you today so that you could be a blessing for somebody else. Listen, if I can do anything for you, if I can serve you in any way, please shoot me a message, let me know. God bless. Have a great day.
