Well, hey, faith-based friends, happy Monday, hope you are doing well. It is the week leading up to Christmas and just wanted to pop on here and share with you the latest episode of Faith in the Everyday. It seems like I just continually find myself in these moments and topics of just finding faith or faith opportunities, right? In everyday things, I am currently sitting outside of a dentist office. One of our, I would imagine, favorite places to be. And I was just sitting here thinking about how oftentimes we approach these types of checkups with apprehension, but if we can shift our perspective, we just might, hold with me now, just might uncover some hidden blessings. And I wanted to share it with you today. You know, I say it often, we live busy lives. It's often, you know, easy to overlook the importance of routine dental checkups. And on top of that, we probably don't even like going historically, but what we need to remember is that these visits, and trust me, I'm getting to something good. It's not just about maintaining good health inside of our mouth. It's really about embracing self-care and even further than that, when you look into the Bible, it becomes an issue of stewardship. And that's really what I want to share with you is this is an opportunity for stewardship. It is an act of stewardship, caring for the body that has been fearfully and wonderfully made by our creator God. And we read that in scripture. There are, there are verses that we read that exact thing. And it reminds us that the significance, whether it's this or something else is, is an act of stewardship and a way of honoring God. The psalmist says in Psalm 139 and verse 14, I praise you because I am fearfully and I'm wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. I know that full well, it is a verse amongst many that reminds us that our bodies are a masterpiece that has been crafted by God's hands. And whether we attend a checkup like this, or we do a checkup somewhere else, it's an opportunity to demonstrate gratitude for the remarkable gift and a way to honor God's design. And so maybe if we shift our mindset and our heart set a little bit, we can embrace these, these types of checkups and rather than approaching them like I have historically with trepidation, and that is saying it lightly, I get an opportunity to view them as an opportunity to invest in my wellbeing. I see them as an opportunity to show gratitude for the body that God has entrusted me with. And by taking care of my health, by taking care of this vessel that God has given to me, I'm not only enhancing my physical wellbeing, but I'm cultivating a mindset of self-care, cultivating a mindset of appreciation, cultivating a mindset of stewardship of all the blessings that God has bestowed upon us. Remember, our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Paul writes about that in first Corinthians chapter six and verse 19. And when we prioritize our health, when we prioritize ourselves, we honor God's creation. And so walk forward in confidence, right? Walk into your checkups with confidence, knowing that by caring for ourselves, we are better equipped to serve and fulfill our purpose in the world and to do the work that God has called us to do in the kingdom. So friends, even in the smallest acts of self-care, there's opportunity for growth, there's opportunity for gratitude, and there's opportunity for a deeper connection with our creator, God. And so embrace the blessing, embrace the checkup, embrace the stewardship, and let it be a reminder that we are surrounded by abundant blessings each and every day. I hope that encourages you today. Maybe it reframes a checkup or two for you and helps you move into that process. But know this, you are fearfully and wonderfully made by the creator, God. He blesses us, he blessed us, he continues to bless us, he is always faithful to us. Be great, be blessed, and we'll see you next time.
