They sing because God is now with us! God knew we couldn't come to Him, so out of His infinite love and mercy He came to us!

One of my favorite parts of this time of year is singing the Christmas hymns in our worship services, and I want to encourage you by reading one of the verses from Hark the Herald Angels Sing, because I love what it says about the person of Jesus. It says, Christ by highest heaven adorned, Christ the everlasting Lord, laid in time, behold him come, offspring of a virgin's womb, veiled in flesh that God had seen, hell incarnate deity, pleased as man with pleased as man with men to dwell, Jesus Christ our Emmanuel. These hymns have a lot of really great theology, and it's more than just nostalgia. It's about teaching us who Jesus is and the meaning of this season, and the thing I love about this one, especially that line, veiled in flesh that God had seen, hell incarnate deity, and then it calls Jesus our Emmanuel. I want to encourage you today to know that God came to you, that he knew that we couldn't bridge that gap of sin that was created in the garden, so he came to us. He veiled him flesh. He veiled himself in flesh. He became a human being just like us. I love the way Paul talks about it in Philippians chapter 2, and he came to rescue you, to love you, and to rid you of that sin that separated us from a holy God. So I want to encourage you today, think through the Emmanuel. Think through the privilege we have of knowing that God had veiled in flesh in the person of Jesus. Listen, have a great day. If I can do anything for you, if I can pray for you in any way, shoot me a message, let me know. God bless.
