I'm going to go ahead and record a couple of these morning prayer times today, right now. I'm scheduled at the church and at the hospital, it's been very busy this week, and I have a funeral to officiate on the weekend. So I have quite a bit going on, so I've got some time here in my easy chair, as you can see, and so I want to pray through some more of this with you. And I'm going to read again, 17, 18, 19, 20 of Psalm 9. The wicked shall be turned into hell, or Sheol, and all the nations that forget God. For the needy shall not always be forgotten, the expectation of the poor shall not perish forever. Arise, O Lord, do not let man prevail, let the nations be judged in your sight. Put them in fear, O Lord, that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah. Heavenly Father, we know that you have a standard of right and wrong. You are indeed, Almighty God, the standard of right, and have determined what is wrong. You have determined what shall be done to those who reject the truth, reject your law, reject your will. And Lord, outside of Jesus Christ, there is no means of salvation. And those who are judged, whether they be nations or individuals, are rightly judged because they have violated your standard of right, and have committed your definition of wrong. So Lord God, when we say that the needy shall be turned into hell or to Sheol, the key element here Lord, I believe, is that you are saying they are separated far from you. Whether it be Hades, Sheol, or whether it be hell, they are separated from you and there is no longer any means of, or any possibility of communication or turning to you, Lord God. The nations, likewise, like the wicked who are turned away and separated from you or cut off from you, the nations that forget God, likewise, shall be left apart from you. And Lord, we pray that your good and just judgment shall take place. We know from what we see here that this happens in this realm, Lord God. So we pray that your just judgment would be done, but as we always pray, we ask that the individuals who you bring judgment against, that they will be killed in the old man and that you will raise them to new life in Jesus Christ. That the death that they experience will be the death of the old man. That the life that they receive will be in Jesus Christ, Lord. So we pray that those blessings will be distributed even in the midst of the judgment, even at the end of the judgment as you bring people to you, Lord. And you bring these kinds of judgments, Lord God, against the wicked and against the nations because you are fulfilling your commitment to those whom you say that you have a special concern for, the needy, the downtrodden, the weak. The needy shall not always be forgotten. Lord God, you will answer our prayers, those who are in need. The expectation of the poor shall not perish forever. You will answer the prayers of the people who come to you in righteousness in Jesus Christ, praying to you in the name of Jesus, asking you, Lord God, for your intervention on their behalf. Lord, we pray for those today who seek your face and are in deep need, whether it be financially, whether it be for physical need, whether it be, Lord, in relationship. We pray that you shall answer those prayers, Lord. We knock, we ask, we seek, Lord, for your intervention on behalf of those who are in need. Arise, Lord. Do not let man prevail. We know that you will not ultimately let man prevail, that you will bring your righteous and just judgment, Lord. Let the nations be judged, Lord God. Put them in fear of you, O Yahweh, that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Lord, you are the great and mighty God, and we worship you in the Spirit. We worship you in the strength of our Lord Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit. We acknowledge that you are the righteous and just God, that you control all things, that you will bring about your desired ends, Lord. The nations are not in a position, the leaders, these so-called great men and women who rule in this realm are but specks of dust before you, Lord God. They are but men, they are but human, but humanity, Lord. So we pray that your power would be manifest, Lord, and we consider this now, we are told to selah, to think about this, and so we think about the fact, Lord, that you will not let man prevail. You will judge the nations in your sight. You will put them in fear, O Yahweh, that the nations may know themselves to be but men, and you are the mighty and awesome God. We thank you, Lord. We pray your blessings on us this day. We ask that you watch over us and keep us. We pray these things in Jesus' name, amen.
