Hey, faith-based friends and family, blessings to you today. I just wanted to share something that was encouraging to me. Maybe two days ago, I was in a coffee shop and as I was getting my coffee, I looked across the room and I see this gentleman that I know, someone I really respect. Not someone that I see super often, but he was waving and it was like the full arm kind of wave and he was smiling. And this caught me off guard because this friend isn't someone who's very expressive and I was excited, I thought maybe he's waving at someone else. That's happened to me a lot, you know, where you wave and they're waving at someone behind you. But I went up to him and I normally initiate the hug, even though he seems to be more of a handshake kind of guy. So I decided I'm just going to go in for the handshake and he went in for the full two arm hug. I was just so encouraged and so blessed. All he did was smile, wave, and initiate a hug. And I just say that as a reminder, just so much power and a little kindness. You know, we talk about just a mustard seed of faith and what the Lord can do with a little yeast and a little leaven, and I just remind us there's so much power in just small acts of kindness. It's the kindness of the Lord that leads us to repentance and Romans 2. And kindness is free and so easy. I was even thinking today about the people who've been most instrumental in my formation. It hasn't actually been my theology professors. I'm grateful for them and I learned a lot from them, but it's the people who just show me love, who love like Jesus, show me kindness, to encourage you to find ways to intentionally show kindness and love. When my wife and I were in Costa Rica and we first got there, we didn't even speak the language. And my wife would make delicious treats, cookies and brownies, and we would just drive around town handing them out. We didn't know how to communicate, but that communicated very clearly. Small acts of kindness to show love in little ways, be creative, find ways. It's powerful and important and the Lord uses it. So blessings to you today as you look for ways to show kindness and love. It might be a smile, it might be a hug, it might be a make good, be creative and find a way. Blessings to you today.
