The wise men. They're a part of most traditional nativity scenes, whether it's in your church or in your house or a decoration in your yard. They tend to be a part of the nativity scene. Now, we could have the conversation about when they came and how old Jesus was and that kind of thing. That's not really the point of this video. It's about what they brought, because Scripture lays out three specific gifts that the wise men brought the baby Jesus. And the first one is gold. Now, why would they bring gold? And it's not just about the fact that it was worth a lot of money and it could help Mary and Joseph out, because really the gift of gold wasn't about Mary and Joseph. It was about who they brought it to. Gold was symbolic of royalty. It was symbolic of a king. The three wise men were acknowledging the fact that that little baby that was born in a manger is the king. And that's a big part of what we need to remember this holiday season. It's great to give gifts. It's great to have decorations. And it's great to do all those wonderful things. But the whole point is our King is born. That Jesus is the King of kings. He is the Lord of lords. That he came once in a manger. He's going to come back in the clouds. So I want to encourage you this holiday season, when you see the three wise men, remember this first gift. The gift of gold. Because it is acknowledging the fact that Jesus is the King. So make him your king today. Listen, if I can do anything for you, if I can pray for you in any way, please shoot me a message. Let me know. God bless. Have a great day.
