Good morning and we're gonna continue in Psalm 9 and verses 11 through I think I'm gonna read through verse 14 here we'll see see how far we get but so Psalm 9 11 sing praises to the Lord who dwells in Zion declare his deeds among the people when he avenges blood he remembers them he does not forget the cry of the humble or the afflicted have mercy on me O Lord consider my troubles from those who hate me you who lift me up from the gates of death that I may tell of all your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion I will rejoice in your salvation the nations have sunk down in the pit which they made and the net which they which they hid their own foot is caught the Lord is known by the judgment he executes the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands meditation Sila and that was through verse 16 heavenly father we do sing praises to you the one who dwells in Zion and we know Lord God that the church your people who are in Jesus Christ that is where you dwell you dwell in your people we know Lord that Jesus accomplishes all of your promises that he is the true Israel he is the true Zion he is the true city or the place of God that is the only place that we can find fellowship with you is in Jesus Christ so we sing praises to you Lord God we declare your deeds among the people and we ask Lord God that your blessings would fall upon us as we do as you ask to sing praises to you Heavenly Father Lord you avenge blood when you remember your people you bring judgment you look upon the affliction of your people you look upon the hardship of your people and you bring judgment scripture tells us that when you avenge the blood of your people that that is part of how you remember us that you do not allow the nations to simply act as they see fit and to bring hardship to your people but you will bring vengeance upon them Lord God you do not forget the cry of the afflicted and so we know that we can come before you Heavenly Father with confidence as we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ knowing that you hear us and that you will respond Lord and as always Lord our primary prayer when we ask that you would bring judgment against those who are against you and your people is that you will bring them into the fold that you will kill the old man and raise up that person or those people to new life in Jesus Christ Lord that is what we how we pray first and foremost for your judgment to be executed Lord it is in your hands to do so as you see fit even as we make that prayer so we ask that you have mercy on us Oh Lord and consider our trouble many people today are out to get those who call upon Jesus as their Lord and Savior and so we pray that you'll have mercy on us and that you will consider our trouble from those who hate us that you will lift us up from the gates of death Lord we sometimes feel downtrodden we sometimes feel so under such a heavy load Lord God and we shouldn't feel that way because we can turn to you and that you as the scripture tells us you will hear our prayers and lift us up that you will protect us and watch over us and give us opportunity to tell of your praises to tell of your wonderful deeds Lord God in the gates of the daughter of Zion there we will rejoice in your salvation so Lord among our fellow Christians we can express praise we can share with them give testimony to God's goodness in our life and give testimony to the saving grace of Jesus not only in the initial event of salvation for each one of us but in the ongoing expression of that concern of the ongoing expression of that mercy and grace that our Lord Jesus Christ has bestowed upon us Lord I pray that you will watch over us this day that we can indeed sing praises to you that we can indeed rest in the knowledge of your mercy your grace your protection and that we will therefore have reason and opportunity to give thanks to you in the assembly to express our love and appreciation our dedication to Jesus Christ and we pray your blessings on this day in Jesus name Amen
