Good morning and welcome back to praying the Bible we're still in Psalm 9 now we'll be looking at verses 6 7 & 8 and I'm gonna be a bit more modest in my let me stop this coffee pot from squawking a bit more modest in what I choose for the daily prayer because it seems like you know just to keep this at a reasonable amount of time I'm not able to do get through much more in about two or three verses or so so six seven eight Oh enemy destructions are finished forever and you have destroyed cities even their memory has perished but the Lord shall endure forever he has prepared his throne for judgment he should judge the world in righteousness and he shall administer judgment for the people's in uprightness Heavenly Father we know them the enemies of you and your kingdom the enemies of the reign of Jesus Christ and Lord the reign of our Lord Jesus Christ is evidenced in the lives of each person who has submitted to Jesus we remind it we are reminded Lord that you said Lord Jesus that to call you Lord is meaningless unless we do what you said do what you say and so Lord when we talk about the kingdom we're talking about the reign and the rule of Jesus Christ in my life and in the life of each person who is a Christian and in our arena of activity our sphere of influence Lord God as we do our very best to live our life under your authority and bring all that we have under our control under your authority as well Lord that's just simply Christian living and so I pray Lord that we would keep that in mind as we recognize that the enemy and ultimately that of course is the accuser that is Satan enemies his destruction his attempt to destroy the memory of Christ's reign the Christ's rule and and I'm thinking again Lord we've been thinking about and praying about the Islamic world and how the cradle of Christianity was first it was the first place that the false religion of Islam overran and changed names of cities changed names of places put buildings of false worship in positions that previously had been occupied by churches dedicated to the worship of the one true God in Jesus Christ and so Lord this this whole idea that the enemy destroying and and destroying cities and destroying even the memory of these cities Lord God that fits quite well with what has happened in history with the false religion of Islam and Lord we pray that those things would be ended just as the psalmist says destructions your destructions enemy are finished forever and Lord we pray that in place of that will rise up a Christian faith that in the cradle of Christianity there and in Israel and throughout the Middle East in the ancient world that was a Christian center of Christianity and I pray Lord that would become true once again that the destructions of the enemy would be forgotten instead there would be a revival of the Christian faith in the place of its birth Lord because you Lord shall endure forever you Almighty God are the only one who is from eternity to eternity all else has been created even the accuser of the brethren Satan himself is simply a tool in your hand as it was Martin Luther I believe Lord who said that Satan is your master fencer to teach your people how to fight and so Lord we we have no fear of the accuser we have no fear of Satan and his minions because we are followers of the true God the one who endures forever and that your throne is prepared for judgment Lord God you will not allow sinfulness and wickedness to continue forever you will bring judgment in this realm and ultimately of course in eternity but Lord we believe that you can and will stop the spread of wickedness in this realm that your people simply need to be praying and I shouldn't say simply but Lord we must pray we must walk in accordance to what Jesus Christ taught Lord because you shall judge the world in righteousness at the end of all things you will certainly do that but I believe that in this realm you likewise bring judgment and you administer judgment for the people in uprightness Lord God we pray that you will in fact intervene in this world today that you will not allow this this wickedness to continue to run away with whole societies and whole cultures Lord turning our attention now to our own nation and the the decadence and the wickedness and the sinfulness the the perversion that has become the norm Almighty God that people in powers and people in positions of power and authority are pushing a perverted and horrible lifestyle on many fronts Lord God and I pray that you by the power of your Holy Spirit will do exactly what your scripture says you shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness that the downtrodden the the weak the oppressed that your people who have been placed in a position of being on the defensive as the wickedness this rolls forward like a like a river Lord God I pray that you will bring judgment that you will bring a change that you will empower your people Lord to give praise to you not only in word but dear God indeed that we might be examples of Christ's likeness throughout the earth Lord bless us this day Lord give us encouragement a joy because we serve the one true God we serve the God who is in control and we just need to wake up and begin to do what you've called us to do so bless us Lord with that desire and that ability to do so we pray this in Jesus name Amen
