Good morning and welcome to Praying the Bible and today we're going to pray through Psalm 9 verses 1 through 5. I'm going to read just those five verses. The psalm has 20 verses in it. Psalm 9. To the chief musician, to the tune of death of the Son, a psalm of David. I will praise you, O Lord, with my whole heart. I will tell of all your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in you. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. When my enemies turn back, they shall fall and perish at your presence, for you have maintained my right and my cause. You sat on the throne judging in righteousness. You have rebuked the nations. You have destroyed the wicked. You have blotted out their name forever and ever. Heavenly Father, we do praise you and we praise you with all our heart. We are reminded of how Jesus said when asked what the most important commandment is, is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, strength. And so we praise you, Lord God. We love you. We give praise to you with our entire being, Lord. Lord, may we actually focus on that. I pray that we can be mindful of the words that we speak. And so when we say this morning that we love you and we praise you, that our focus will be on you, Almighty God, that Yahweh, the King of the universe, and in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, we have been given so much. And there is so much to praise you for, Lord God. It says in the scripture, I will tell of all your marvelous works. And Lord, each one of us in our lives, we have so many things that we can recall and praise you and give thanks to you for. Lord, I pray that right now that each person who is participating in this time of prayer would just think for a moment of the things that you have done for them. Lord, I want to give thanks and praise to you for my family, for my wife and children and grandchildren. Lord, I want to give thanks to you and give praise to you for the opportunity to to serve you as a pastor and a chaplain. Lord, I praise you and thank you that you have saved me by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Lord, of all the things that we can give thanks for, of all the marvelous works that you have done, it is the restoration of relationship of your people with you, Yahweh God, through the work and the sacrifice of the Eternal Son incarnate, incarnate, and that is Jesus the Christ whom we worship and praise and give thanks to for salvation, Lord God. So we do pray, Lord. We praise you with our whole heart. We do tell of all your marvelous works, all the things that you've done in our lives. Everything we have is a gracious gift from you. We will be glad and rejoice in you and sing praise to your name, O Most High. Lord, I pray that we will not allow the cares of the world, the pressures that we face in finances or relationships or jobs or whatever, that none of those things, just the the events in the world around us, they will not drag us down, they will not pull us away, but instead we'll be glad and rejoice in you because it is you, Lord God, who determines all things. It is you, Almighty God, who brings us through a time of hardship, brings us through turmoil and anxious times, Lord God, and we should have our eyes fixed on you, knowing that all things, all things work together for good, for those who love the Lord, those who are the called according to his purpose, and that good ultimately, of course, is to be more like Jesus Christ. So, Lord, I pray that we will constantly give praise to you, be glad and rejoice in you, sing your praises and sing the praise of your name, Most High. Lord, I ask that throughout the day, each day, we will have on our heart the praise to our Most High God, the one who is the ruler and king of the universe. So, Lord, I pray your blessings on this day. I pray that you'll walk with us and guide us and direct us. We pray your blessings. We give thanks to you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
