Hey faith-based friends and family hope you're doing well today. I shared in a devotional recently about the Hebrew name for God, El Roy, which means the God who sees, but sees more than like visually. He like seasons our hearts. He knows our hurts and our fears and he cares. But I was also thinking about a couple other names. I remember the story of Hannah in 1st Samuel chapter 1 and she is so desperate for a son and she's praying. Her lips are moving but no sounds coming out. She prayed this intensely and the priest Eli thinks that she's intoxicated. She expresses her heart's desire and she has her son Samuel. And Samuel, which was her heart's desire, means heard by God. I thought this is so cool that we have God, the God who sees. We've heard by God. Emmanuel, which is God with us. Cool. He sees. He hears us. He's with us. So I started thinking as I'm processing the names of God, like which name means loved by God? The God who loves. And I processed. I felt like the Holy Spirit said that's easy. That's the easiest one of all. That's Jesus. It's the most powerful name of all. You see Jesus's life communicates a love that is so deep and so rich. It's far greater than any way love could be communicated with words because of what he did for us. Because the way he lived, the way he died on the cross and rose again. So we do have a God who sees us, who hears us, who's with us, but who loves us. And that name is Jesus. It means the Lord is salvation. He is our salvation.
