Advent is Here!

👇💥 FULL DEVO BELOW💥👇 We just can’t walk through this season without taking about Advent! The season of celebrating his “coming” or “arrival”. Think of something you anticipate, something that you planned way in advance and you could barely wait... you look forward to it. You feel excited about what is coming. The butterflies churn when there is something exciting on the horizon. Maybe you spend more time thinking about it during the day and... this is the mindset of Advent with Jesus. 800 years before Jesus arrived Isaiah delivered a number of prophecies about the coming Messiah: Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. Isaiah 9:6-7 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. The people of Israel had maybe never wanted a savior for their people more than ever! With Roman occupation, who wouldn’t want a king who would be “establishing justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.” In this season we can: PRAY - CELEBRATE! The Christ has come! Jesus dwells with us and continues to meet and guide us! We can and should celebrate what he has already done in our lives: life transformation, miracles accomplished, PRAY - SHARE What do you still hope for Jesus to do in your life? Restore relationships? Bring peace or joy? Comfort? Guide? PRAY - LISTEN Open up your heart to God, ask him to speak to you, spend a few moments just listening for him.
