Faithbase

I've just got this baby here because it means that you're more likely to watch the video. Isaiah 40 31 tells us that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, right? They will rise up on wings like eagles, they will run, or they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, and they will walk and not grow tired, and what I love about that verse is it's a real active participation on the part of the individual. It shows us this idea that we have a huge role to play in the way that we execute the outworkings of our hope, that there's value in taking those steps, there's value in presenting requests before the Lord, there's value in having the desires of the heart to come to fruition and asking God to participate in that, but there's a big role that you have in those things to play, right? And the promise of that verse is not that things are gonna work out easier, that things are gonna go smoothly, or that things are even not gonna be circuitous, right? Sometimes things will be difficult and they will be hard to navigate, but when I like I'm sitting here with my daughter who is officially at one month old on this Mother's Day as we record and I think about how grateful I am to celebrate this journey with my wife and now with really like the outworking of this thing that we'd hoped for in this last two-year journey, and so it's really peculiar to look at her every day when I'm changing her blowout diapers and like between 7 and 8 a.m. and I have to change four poop diapers there and it's not like making my life any easier, but I think about a verse like Isaiah 40 31 and it reminds me of the value of saying like I have a role to play, I have an active participation in leaning into God and chasing after Him and pursuing Him when things get difficult in my journey because if I'm going to actively execute and plan and strategize and participate in bringing my hope to life in Christ, then I have things to do, but the promise is not that or the promise is not that I'm never gonna be tired things aren't gonna be hard, but rather God is gonna be with me throughout the entirety of the run, right? I'm gonna have somebody that I can go to on a consistent basis and renew my strength, but there's gonna be periods of where I feel like I'm gliding or soaring like that of an eagle and that's you know things are going well and we're making great progress, right? For this example like she's actually sleeping through the whole night let's say and there's times where I'm gonna run and not grow faint, right? And it's like maybe she's only sleeping three or four hours and not the whole night like I'd wish and then there's gonna be times where I can barely walk there and I just you know she's up every hour because she's crying like all of these things have happened within the last month, but God is in every single part of that journey. God refuses to let go and God refuses to have me do this on my own and this is what I hope to impart with you today is that you have an active role to play in bringing your hope to life. If hope is going to live in you, it requires your participation in it as much as you can give whenever you're there and that's the beauty of the God that we serve is he meets us where we're at and he's willing to fill in the gaps where we can't.
