Faithbase

Hey friends, as we're wrapping up this series on faith, it's confessional time. I don't want to go through a series without getting personal and sharing my own journey and particular struggles and weakness in whatever it is that we might be talking about. Certainly there is victory to be had and joy when we have obeyed in faith. I say we, my wife and I, you know we've moved all over the country to follow the Lord's calling and started jobs and and you know all to to be obedient to what it is that God has called us to. But there are just seasons where walking in faith and trust is really hard. I would say probably these last five years in particular have just been, you know, I've allowed fear to be a driver for my my decisions and my actions instead of trusting God for what it is that he's done. Here's an example. We moved into a neighborhood, new folks, new community, and I just felt like at one point like the Lord was asking me to to connect with my neighbor and ultimately invite my neighbors to our church. Small, I would say a small ask, not outside of my character, however, fear ruled the day and it's been a couple years now that I have just really struggled to really walk in obedience in that. There, of course, there are ways that I have walked in obedience, but this is something that that's been hard and so especially over the last year I would say I've been really impressed to let go of letting the fear rule some of my decision-making and return to Jesus's invitation to lose my life for him. And this is a decision we have to make all the time and I would say daily. Jesus says take up your cross and I'm rediscovering what that means to lose my life for the sake of Jesus and for the gospel. So be encouraged, friends. I know this is not an easy, it's not an easy task and I I'm with you in that. God bless you as we continue to to walk through this together. Peace.
