Remember the prayers that you used to pray? Given up hope on any of them? Luke 1:13

Hey faith-based friends and family, blessings to you today. Today's word of encouragement comes from Luke chapter 1. The context is Zechariah. Zechariah as in John the Baptist's father. He's serving as a priest. He's burning incense in the temple and an angel comes to him and speaks to him. And the angel says this, it's in chapter 1 verse 13, do not be afraid Zechariah. He says your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear a son and you are to call him John. Now I really just want to focus on one part of this. He says your prayers have been heard. I heard a scholar share one time that the tense, and I've researched it, and it makes sense logically, the tense is communicating the prayers that you used to pray, meaning you no longer pray. And I've processed this and wondering if this is accurate. And it actually makes sense because it says that Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth were quite old at this time. And he's so shocked to find out that his wife's pregnant. He's like how could I know this to be true? And you might remember the story. So it makes sense that he had stopped praying this prayer. Are you tracking with me? And the angel is saying the prayers that you used to pray have been heard and responded to. And I say that to say that Lord is so good and he's so amazing and he transcends time. And the prayers that we've used, we used to pray, maybe even that we've given up hope on, he hears. And he cares. They matter to him because he sees and he knows and he cares and he loves so deeply. So blessings to you. Would this be a season just marked with great hope? Know that Lord hears you, he cares, and he loves you. Have a blessed day.
