In Galatians chapter 5, Paul talks about one of the biggest challenges every single believer will have on this planet. It's that challenge we have between our sinful flesh and our renewed spirit in Christ. You can think of it as kind of these two dogs on the inside of all of us fighting. And Scripture tells us two things we need to understand. One, as long as we're on this planet, we're gonna struggle with sin. We're gonna struggle with that the desire of the flesh, but only when we're here. Because Jesus won the victory over our sin, over our flesh, and over all those things that pull our vision away from Jesus. He won victory over all those things on the cross. And we will get to experience that victory with Him in eternity, forever, and be able to experience what true joy and love and purpose and meaning and all those things really mean. But listen, not just in heaven, because too many times as believers we think that living by the Spirit and experiencing all those things only happen when we get to heaven. But we've been called to live by the fruit of the Spirit while we're here on this earth, so that we can love and serve and represent Christ. That's why I'm excited for us to just take some time over this holiday season going into the new year and examine the fruit of the Spirit. Now, it's not the fruits of the Spirit. It's not plural. It's singular. It's just one. It's one characteristic that we as believers are supposed to have. Now, Paul lays it out for us with different descriptions, different adjectives, however we want to describe it. But it's one fruit of the Spirit, and we are to walk by that fruit, not the flesh. So I'm excited for us to begin this study into the fruit of the Spirit. But before we do that, I want to pray for everybody. And if there's any way that I can pray for you that we understand that conflict we have to either walk by the flesh or walk by the Spirit. But we have been given the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to help us in that walk.
