Hey faith-based friends and family blessings to you today. I have to be honest I am very cold this morning. I'm in East Tennessee and as you might have heard I lived pretty close to the equator for about seven years so the cold just feels much more cold than it used to be. Brutally cold. I find myself peeking at the app on my phone with the weather and seeing how cold tomorrow is and almost dreading the cold and I'm in I'm in the south. So I say that to say I got used to the heat right and living so close to the equator and I felt stirred in my spirit to uh ask myself the question and invite you to process what is it that we've gotten used to that we're comfortable in that maybe we shouldn't be comfortable in and I say that saying just making sure that we are um hungry for holiness and the things that are offensive to the Lord. Obviously we're going to just walk in great kindness and grace and humility and love but the things that are offensive to the Lord would be offensive to us whether that's uh language whether that's hatred whether that's violence whether that's the way people are treated maybe that's social injustice or people being marginalized but I just don't want us to ever get used to things that there's a degree of normalcy to that break the heart of the Lord and so I just encourage you to process are there things in our lives that we've gotten used to maybe because culturally it's acceptable or it's normal maybe it's words that come out of people's mouths easily and I'm not saying we ever offer any judgment or any type of hatred or unkindness I want to make sure that we have a heart just like the heart of the Lord so as I sit here cold in my car and I'm grateful for the heat that offers I want to be aware of what is it that I've become used to that maybe I shouldn't be used to so don't know if that serves with you in your heart I hope so I just want you to know that the Lord is with you for you today and he's inviting you into greater intimacy and greater conformity into him and when we think about holiness there's really no negative connotations I know that sometimes we we have them in our mind that it's a seriousness and boringness but just reminded the Lord is just so full of joy and love and he created laughter and silliness and play and he loves those things and he's inviting us to become more like him so blessings today as you continue your journey to know him and to make him known have a great day
