welcome to this morning's praying the Bible and we are still in Psalm 5 and I'm still gonna stick with two verses at a time here verses 9 and 10 for there is no faithfulness in their mouth their inward part is destruction their throat is an open tomb they flatter with their tongue pronounce them guilty O God let them fall by their own counsels cast them out on the multitude of their transgressions for they have rebelled against you Heavenly Father once again we are confronted with some what we would say are harsh words and yet Lord God we are wrong to say that that somehow you Lord God are a unfair God but you are not we need to understand the depth of offense that sin is against you that the how bad it is the sins that we commit how horrible it is that we would rebel against you Lord God that seems to be most of us that's our problem that we don't understand the the depravity of our sin the things that we do that offends you and how horrible that is because we have a small view of you Lord God we think that you were like us more than anything else and that's that's not what the scripture tells us but instead Lord God we must understand that you are much much greater than anything we can comprehend Lord there are many who who have no faithfulness in their mouths they have no concern for the things of God they do not want to submit to you Lord God we pray that they would be drawn to you Lord but if you choose not to do so we pray that your justice and your will shall be done Lord their inward part is destruction their throat is an open tomb they flatter with their tongue and we've prayed about this before Lord God this seems that there are many who are in leadership who who love power and they love death they destroy they want to not only kill the unborn but they want to destroy entire civilizations Lord God and societies I should say as they they promote and push and and refuse to consider peace in many places throughout the world in Ukraine and in Syria in the Middle East and in Israel now and Lord as we mentioned in Africa there's so many places where war is the norm Lord God and these people who they're very they're very inward part is destruction these people who push this they are like an open tomb they're like death and destruction itself Lord God and yet they can continue in this way because they flatter with their tongue they they say the words that people want to sit here that they assure people that this is the right path and Lord God I ask that you would sweep them away that you would reform them by the power of your Holy Spirit draw them into relationship with yourself and that they would make dramatic changes in the way that they govern the way that they speak the way that they act or Lord God that you would simply just remove them from position pronounce them guilty Oh God may they fall by their own counsels may they be caught up in their own machinations may they be caught up in their own lies and be exposed for what they are that the people around them will no longer offer protection for them that they can no longer hide behind the lies Lord God but instead that you would pronounce them guilty let them fall by their own counsels and cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions they deserve Lord God to be punished we all deserve to be punished and so Lord my prayer as always is that you would choose to destroy the old man that you would choose to destroy the old man and bring the new creation out of that that wreckage of the old life Lord God that sometimes as oftentimes how you bring people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ is to just crush them in their old ways in their sinful life and to to tear them down to the very foundation of their life Lord God and I pray that that would be the case with these people who are now running the world at least they think they are they think they're running the world and they think that they can do whatever they want Lord cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions for they've rebelled against you so bring them I pray into a saving knowledge a saving relationship with Jesus Christ Lord if you choose not to do that that is your prerogative because you are the omnipotent mighty awesome ruling God but our prayer as always is that the gospel of Jesus Christ would conquer the hearts and minds of those who are in rebellion against you Lord God so we pray your blessings on the gospel that goes out today we pray that you'd raise up people to preach the Word of God to preach the gospel even to Kings and and and rulers just as Paul was was called to speak to Kings and to rulers just as John the Baptist spoke very bluntly and forcefully to King Herod Lord God may we have that same kind of courage that as you did bring destruction it will be destruction unto life and we pray these things we pray these blessings in the name of Jesus Christ amen
