Good morning and thank you for joining me and praying the Bible and we're back to Psalm 4 verses with or excuse me beginning with verses 4 through we're gonna go ahead and finish the Psalm 4 through 8. The truth is most of the time when we pray the Bible we don't arbitrarily cut it off obviously at about four or five minutes or whatever it might be but just for the sake of keeping these relatively short I have been doing that but today I just I feel led to go ahead and finish this Psalm out just because it's a good flow here and I'm gonna read to you verses 4 through 8 in Psalm 4 and beginning with verse 4 be angry and do not sin meditate within your heart on your bed and be still. Selah. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness and put your trust in the Lord there are many who say who will show us any good Lord lift up the light of your countenance upon us you have put gladness in my heart more than in the season that their grain and wine increased I will both lie down in peace and sleep for you alone O Lord make me dwell in safety Lord God we thank you so much for your scripture we thank you for the Bible that guides us in our daily life Lord as we study and learn and Lord as we look to the scripture now we are reminded that we should be not a sinner who is angry be angry and do not sin Lord we are we we know that we can have anger there can be a righteous anger Lord God but help us to be careful not to justify anger that we hold Lord God and just help us to have a discerning heart to know that anger against a brother or sister just for the most part Lord God I believe that we should never really hold that anger at all we can be angry about bad behavior we can be angry about a state power that is imposing something on people that is ungodly but Lord we can be angry and not sin meditate within your heart on your bed and be still see us so this is something we need to think about Heavenly Father we think need to think about what does it mean to be angry and not sin and the scripture here is telling us to meditate within our heart on our bed and to be still that any anger that we have should rarely if ever be expressed openly and in a violent way never I don't believe it should be expressed in a violent way against those who are perhaps it crossed our our will in some fashion Lord God help us to have wisdom when it comes to anger and when it comes to expressing that anger and Lord I pray that our sacrifices of righteousness would be pleasing to you that in this case of anger we would make the sacrifice of dropping that of letting it go that is a sacrifice that we give up that anger for to you Lord God and be righteous in it and instead put our trust in you Lord that you will work all things for your good or for your glory and for our good I should say and that we benefit as we do what you call us to do so Lord God help us to think about that to be cognizant of the difference between just the anger of men and righteous anger Lord God there's many Lord out there who say who will show us any good and there are many who consider this world a lost cause and Lord we know that that is not true we know that your Bible tells us very plainly that the gospel of Jesus Christ is for offer salvation to all those who might come to you Lord Jesus there is no differentiation there is no holding at arm's length because of of a nationality or color or ethnicity or anything like that at all Lord God everyone and anyone can come to you Lord Jesus Christ as you are drawing them by the power of your Holy Spirit then they will see good they will see the goodness and the mercy and the grace of our God and our Lord Jesus Christ that's the good that we can show people our God so we do pray Lord that that goodness that you have you will lift up the light of your countenance upon us that you will look upon us with favor and bring blessings to us Lord God the covenant blessings as we embrace the life that you've called us to do as we live out the salvation that you've given us by the great gift and the wonderful sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ Lord you indeed have put gladness in our hearts all these things that go on in this world can cause us to be distraught but it is gladness of the Lord Jesus Christ is the joy of your salvation that we embrace and we thank you for Lord God more than anything that this world might have to offer your salvation your joy your reality is what we seek and what we long for Lord God more than than anything in this world so Lord we both lie down in peace and sleep we thank you that we can rest in the knowledge of our God's sovereignty rest in the knowledge of your goodness and grace and you alone you alone Lord or the one who makes us dwell in safety you alone are the one that we turn to in times of distress Lord I thank you so very much for the many blessings that you've given us in our Lord Jesus Christ we are blessed on a daily basis the world seems to be falling apart around us but we find stability we are steadfast in our Lord Jesus Christ for you alone O Lord make us dwell in safety we thank you for this and we pray these things in Jesus name amen
