The Lord's Prayer, Matthew chapter 6 verse 13. Jesus says, and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. A better translation is, do not allow us to go into that temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. And there's a theological aspect to that that we need to understand that I really try to help the people of my congregation to understand that we have an adversary on this planet. We have an adversary. We have somebody that wants to do harm to us. We have somebody that wants to rob us of our joy, that rob us of our peace, rob us of relationship, to rob us of anything that we could use to bring glory to Jesus. And when we come to faith in Christ, we now have picked a side against that enemy, against that evil one. But here's the wonderful thing, that when you become a child of God, you now have victory over that evil one. That Satan is not the adversary of Jesus. Here's the beautiful thing about Jesus, he has no adversary. He has nobody on his level. And when we are doing things for the kingdom of God, your kingdom come, your will be done. When we're doing things for the glory and honor of Jesus, we now have the strength and power of Jesus over the temptations of that evil one. So I want to encourage you today, keep your spiritual eyes open over any kind of temptation that will be out there. Keep your spiritual eyes open over anything that the evil one can use to simply take your mind and your heart and your eyes off of Jesus. Watch out for those things. Don't worry about trying to fight him in your own strength and your own power, because you have an advocate that does that for you. Our job is simply to bring glory and honor to Jesus. So I encourage you to find a way to do that today. If I can do anything for you, just give me a call. Shoot me a message, let me know. I'd love to be able to serve you in any way that I possibly can. Listen, God bless, have a great day.
