Hey folks, I wanted to talk to you a little bit this morning about your local church and Christmas This is just the beginning of our Christmas decorations here at First Baptist Leeds We love to embrace the season. We love to embrace all the different aspects of Christmas The cultural aspects of it. Listen, you can make arguments. Is a Christmas tree Should it be in your church and wreaths and all that and and I get that it's a great conversation to have But what we make sure to do here every single Christmas Is to make sure that everything that we have all these decorations and listen this again. This is just the beginning There's a bunch behind me in another rooms of the sanctuary That I haven't been able to show you But we make sure no matter how many trees we have up or anything like that that it all Centers around the birth of Jesus. It's all got to be about Jesus Whether you have a Santa Claus on your roof like I do at my house Yeah, the first Baptist preacher has a 10-foot Santa Claus on the roof of his house But right out front I have a nativity scene and I make sure that as a home and as a church That we make sure that every single thing we do in the Christmas season is all centered around the person of Jesus Everything points to the gospel So I want to encourage you this year to enjoy putting up your decorations enjoy celebrating Christmastime at your church there are parts of cultural Christmas that Probably as believers we should avoid but there are some that are perfectly neutral I'll leave that between you and the Holy Spirit to decide those things for you But I just want to encourage you everything that you do this Christmas season always make it about Jesus always point it to the gospel. Listen, if I can do anything for you Just shoot me a message and let me know. God bless. Have a great day
