I just got back home after driving my wife to her office and on the way back home I was driving to the neighborhood and I started to take notice of all the Decorations that were coming up on the street as we're officially transitioned into the fall season And I was thinking about it looking around at the different decor and I started to think about trends, right? There's trends in in decor. There's trends in fashion. There's social media trends There's tick-tock trends and the thing about trends is they come and go right the seasons change the decorations Go the fashion changes the the the social media trend the tick-tock dance as soon as it gets on the scene and blows up It's it's gone right as a new trend comes on the scene, right? They just they come and go and what's interesting to me is that there there is power in trends, right? We see that there's businesses that get started We see that people become famous after being viral and going viral from a trend and we see that there's power in it But I think if we're not careful The danger is that we can start to associate value With a trend right because if it's trending that means it's exciting. It's it's valuable but again that trend comes and goes that value comes and goes that excitement comes and Goes and I wanted to encourage you today that we're not meant to chase trends. We're not meant to chase Excitement right? We're meant to chase Jesus because the reality is the truth is true value long-lasting eternal value comes from Jesus through a relationship with Jesus through an identity in Christ and so I want to encourage you with that today that we're not meant to chase the things that are exciting, right? We're meant to chase Jesus and I feel the opposite is true in that that lack of excitement Does not then mean lack of value and I really want to encourage you with that today lack of excitement Doesn't mean that lack of value because your value is in Jesus and Jesus alone So I want to encourage you with that today. Don't worry about chasing the trends chasing the excitement Our value is in Jesus because he loves you. He's for you
