Hey faith-based friends and family, blessings to you today. In Genesis 5, there's this really long list of genealogies, and it's one of those passages of Scripture that we're tempted just to read right over, right? It just has lists of names and years, and it has a list and it tells one man's name, how long he lived before he had his first son, and then how long he lived after that, always including his other sons and daughters, and then his total age. And this list goes on and on and on, and then finally it comes to a man named Enoch later in Genesis 5, and it says, and Enoch walked with God. It says it twice in two verses there in Genesis 5, after this long list of these men and how long they lived before they had their first son, and then how long they lived total, and he's the only one that it says walked with God. And then you flip the chapter to Genesis 6, and it talks about Noah, and guys just grieve with humanity, and he says, but he's found favor, Noah's found favor in his eyes, and he says, and Noah walked with God. And I say that just as an invitation for us just to pause for a moment, to be still, to examine our lives, and to ask ourselves, are we merely living, or are we really walking with God? And there's a drastic difference. Merely living, it's just going through the motions, the rhythms, and the routines. Or are we intentionally walking with the Lord, keeping in step with the Spirit, intimacy? It's so easy to fall into the routine, right? Just, we've got long to-do lists, and they never seem to get done, and we believe the lie that next week will be less busy. At least I fall prey to that lie a lot. I just want to encourage you, are you really walking with the Lord? And I say that not as an invitation to a list of rules, but an invitation to intimacy, to like nearness and closeness, to remember what matters most. Remember in the presence of the Lord, there's fullness of joy. So it's an invitation to joy, and freedom, and hope. I encourage you just to find 30 seconds, two minutes, ten minutes today, just to be still and process, are you merely living, or are you walking with God? And what's the difference? Blessings to you today. Have a wonderful day.
