Exploring Malachi 3:10 and thinking about how sacrificial giving aligns us with God’s heart for justice and mercy.

Well, hey friends, I'm back. I had more thoughts on giving this time in the realm of sacrificial giving. You know, sacrificial giving is the kind of giving that causes us to go beyond our comfort zones and giving sacrificially for the sake of others. And I thought that might be good to explore because there's blessings that come from that kind of giving as well as we sacrifice ourselves for the sake of others. You know, in the book of Malachi, God challenges his people to test him in giving. "'Bring the whole tithe,' the Bible says, "'into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. "'Test me in this,' says the Lord Almighty, "'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven "'and pour out so much blessing "'that there will not be room enough to store it.'" Malachi chapter three, verse 10. When we give sacrificially, we open up ourselves to experiencing God's abundant blessing. The Bible also says, "'And what does the Lord require of you? "'To act justly, to love mercy, "'to walk humbly with your God.'" Micah chapter six in verse eight. As we continue to think through joy of giving, sacrificial giving, be reminded that God calls us to that, not just in our finances, but in our time, our talents, and our treasures. And when we give sacrificially, much like when we give with joy, we again align ourselves with God's heart for justice and mercy. So be encouraged and give sacrificially, experience. Dare God to experience the blessings that come from him, that come from living a life of selfless generosity. I hope you're encouraged with part two, I guess. Be great and be blessed. We'll see you next time.
