Hey friends today is Veterans Day and I want us to consider just for a moment what our Approach ought to be to this day. And I know that there's maybe a lot of thoughts this is gonna be a short video, but Here's here's where I'm coming from In John 15 Jesus is just hours away from going to the cross and he is spending his last moments with his closest friends his disciples and He he's saying a lot of really profound Moving important things to them. One of the things he says is in 1512 He says this my command is this to love each other as I have loved you Greater love has no one than this to lay down one's life for one's friends You are my friends if you do what I command now Jesus, of course is telling the disciples that he is about to lay his life down for them and He encourages them to do that for each other and for their friends this I think is one of the greatest sacrifices and Jesus points us to and what scripture points us to as one of the greatest Demonstrations of love that there possibly could be No matter where you fall on the political spectrum no matter how you feel about Military war You know, I myself have concerns about people who are putting patriotism over their relationship with Jesus who put The nation over their Christian values and ideals. I I have that concern But I know that most people who go to serve in the military Do it because they love their family and they love their friends and they want to see them And their freedom kept safe. They want to see The values that we hold Liberty and freedom and and justice upheld in this country they do it for a lot of other reasons, too, I'm sure but I think that that is worthy of our thanks worthy of our admiration and If you see a veteran today Shake their hand Give them a hug High-five whatever tell them thank you for serving because they do it most of the time for for you and for me and in this way they they demonstrate a Form of Jesus's love and in his call Whether or not they do it in the name of Christ, they still demonstrate that and we can see it So thank you. It's all the veterans out there. Love you and and appreciate all that you have done Peace
