The best thing about the house of the Lord, Jesus is there!

The last part of Psalms 26, David says, I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. A lot of times when we read that verse, we think about heaven. We think about when Jesus says in John 14, that when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am you may be also. A lot of times we think of that in the sense of a physical location. And yes, heaven is a physical location. All the things we read about in Revelation, all those things are physical locations. But here's what we need to understand. What makes heaven heaven is that God is there, that Jesus is physically there, that we will physically be surrounded by his glory. I love the way from Ezekiel to Isaiah to the book of Revelation, how it describes being in the presence of God. It's just like light and goodness and joy is all around us, it's all consuming us. That's what makes it heaven. What makes dwelling in the house of the Lord forever a blessing, it's not that it's a particular location that's wonderful, and I'm sure it will be wonderful. It's who's there with us, that we get to dwell in the house of the Lord. We get to be in the house of the Lord forever. So my challenge to you this morning is, do you belong to Jesus? Because there is one stipulation for that. It's not where you went to church, it's not if you're baptized, it's not if you gave a bunch of money, it's not if you helped with vacation Bible school. All those things are good, all those things point to the reality of our faith. But the only thing that matters, if we have confessed with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved. Now again, that's more than just an action. What it is, it's an internal part of us that has been changed forever. Jesus says in John three, that it's literally been born again, that we have, Jesus took our sin on the cross and he imputed into us his righteousness. He who knew no sin became sin for us so that we could become the righteousness of God. And when that happens, we get to dwell in his house forever. So I wanna encourage you this morning, if you're already having a bad morning or you're watching this in the afternoon, you've had a bad day, just know that one day this stuff's gonna come to an end. It's gonna come to an end and your time in the house of the Lord will be forever. In our minds, we can't even grasp how long forever is because it's not really a timeframe, it's just an existence. You just are, you just are. You are with Jesus. So I wanna encourage you today, know what your future is. Find hope and encouragement in that and find a way to invest hope and encouragement in somebody else. Listen, God bless. Again, if I can help you in any way or pray for you in any way, shoot me a message and let me know. Have a great day.
