Good morning and welcome to thinking about the Bible and we're thinking about salvation and today I want to sum this up I want to bring a conclusion to this whole series and we'll start with the fact that God is who he says he is that God is the good and gracious God he is almighty that he has created all things and one of the things that he created was humanity he created Adam and Eve to be his companions he didn't need that isn't something that he did because he was feeling a lack or a a hole in his life so to speak but God because he's a gracious God decided to create humanity and gave humanity the privilege of relationship with him now Adam and Eve sinned they broke that relationship they broke that covenant and because of it were punished with separation from God there was throughout the Old Testament time period a reconciliation of some extent but but not the full reconciliation of a friendship with God that had been the original intention Jesus came he is the eternal Son incarnate he is truly God and truly human two natures in a single person Jesus lived a sinless life he died in the stead of all those who were at war with God who were sinning and against the sinning against the ways of the Lord God and his sinless life and his infinite value as God incarnate was more than sufficient to pay for the price pay for the justification of all those who God would call to himself in Jesus Christ so by the death of Jesus Christ the sins of those who have a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ they are washed away and we in our Lord Jesus Christ are reckoned as justified reckoned as not guilty but we are also are reconciled by that death of Jesus Christ reconciled and made friends once again with God and this whole process is through the power of the Holy Spirit that we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead we embrace what the Bible says about our Lord Savior Lord and Savior Jesus Christ about God we believe and hold on hard and fast to the truth of his resurrection and the resurrection power of Jesus Christ is at work in our lives so we confess for their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead and we are saved by grace it is an unmerited salvation we don't do anything to earn it we simply believe and we believe because God gives us that that gift of faith and we believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior he is the only way to salvation there is no other name under heaven by which men might be saved he is the way the truth and life no one comes to the Father except by Jesus Christ so that's in a nutshell salvation whenever I talk about salvation to people I always feel like I need to have a longer conversation with them I need actually to be able to sit down and talk with folks because each person has their own questions when I present the the gospel of folks there's different questions from everybody and some of them are very similar but I hope that this series has at the very least open your eyes to the need for Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior if you're not a Christian if you are a Christian I hope that this series has given you some material that you can use as you talk about Jesus talk about salvation to your friends and family that don't know the Lord Jesus Christ so throughout the rest of our series and thinking about the Bible we'll be touching on things we always everything we talk about is in some way tied to our relationship or salvation in Jesus Christ of course so you can always refer back to this series as we talk about other things in the future that tie into this whole idea of salvation in Jesus Christ alone so that's what I want you to think about today thinking about just the the building blocks of salvation in Jesus Christ thinking about salvation and I pray that you are among those who have embraced Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and if you need to have more information on this you can always contact me you can either contact me through my faith base page through that or through my personal website davidericwilliams.com either one just get a hold of me and I'd be glad to have a text conversation or something with you as we think about salvation
