I was thinking about two verses today one was during my devotional time this morning on my way to work and I'm driving now going back home and there's two things I was two verses I was thinking about one verse is in scripture it says preach the good go out to the world and preach the good news and it secondly is one of my one of my life verses because it's so simple not a lot of theological not not a heavy theological verse where you have to dissect it and and think about it but it's very straightforward is one of Jesus commands right not one of Jesus commands but he was talking to his disciples and it goes something like this he goes he goes they will know me by how much you love one another so I was thinking about these two two things so as as a chaplain and as a speaker preaching is very important right don't get me wrong preaching is is is important especially when when you're sharing the good news you're you're in a sense even if you're not a preacher or pastor or speaker in everyday life when you're sharing the good news you're you're essentially preaching the good news right you're presenting the good news which is which is Jesus and so that's the first component of it which is the auditory component and then secondly it's it's the the nonverbal component right when Jesus says they will know me by how much you love one another how much you love one another and when I when I when I hear that verse I picture just the disciples don't get me wrong their family they probably were we're together for a long time and they probably got in arguments etc but most importantly is how in those arguments or in those disagreements how are they loving each other right because we can't discount that there are gonna be times in life where you do argue there's gonna be times in life where you do disagree with somebody but even in those disagreements you could still love that person and especially in the climate that we're in right now in this country where we're just so divided so opinionated and we data is now showing that majority of people are going to groups that actually do have the same belief system actually have the same political affiliations as each other these are even believers Christ followers right because of how divided and how opinionated we are now I think most important in this verse that they will know me by how much you love one another are we willing to be surrounded by people that and this is this is a verse for me and this is a reminder for me because I'm there are times where I struggle with that of not being able to stay firm or stay calm and cool and collected by people who disagree or don't have the same beliefs as me right and I think as Christ followers we should at least excel and thrive in this area of loving one another and showing people because they will know Jesus by how much we love one another how much we treat each other even in the midst of disagreements even in the midst of different viewpoints are we still showing love to one another
