Psalms 23, we're in verse 3 now. David has said the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside the still waters, and he restores my soul. And what David means there is pretty simple, that this world is going to beat you down. This world, Jesus said it, he said in this life you will have troubles. Jesus said if they hate me, they will hate you. There is no picture painted in Scripture that once you come to faith in Christ your life is going to be nothing but sunshine and rainbows. That's not the picture that Scripture paints for us. What Scripture does tell us is that when life does come at us, what I tell my people all the time, is when life does, not if, but when life does punch you in the mouth, know that you have a great shepherd that can divinely and supernaturally restore your soul. And we can think of our soul as, again, our hearts, our minds, our emotions, even extending to relationships, to our churches, and our businesses, and all the different aspects of our life that our great shepherd knows about, that when things go south in all of those things, and they will, they will sooner or later in all those different aspects of our life, whatever they may be, they're going to go south, that you have a great shepherd that knows how to restore your soul. And restore means to basically think of it as re-energize, as you got a battery that's dead. Well, an instant charge, an instant power, the supernatural ability to be able to deal with the world that stands against everything Jesus stands for. So I want to encourage you today, listen, if you're in need of restoration, if you're in need of being recharged, know that you have a great shepherd that is a master at that. You have a great shepherd that knows exactly how to restore your soul. What he needs you to do is to talk to him about it. Pray to him about it. Have a conversation with him about it. Lay out your heart to him, what is hurting, what is struggling, where you've been hit. He already knows, but what he needs, he desires, not needs, but what he desires for you to do is to talk to him about it. Have a conversation with him about it.
