Hey faith-based friends and family, blessings to you today. I just wanted to give another one of my metrics messages and this has to do with leadership. Now leadership's a pretty comprehensive field so I'm only gonna address one small component of it. When we look at biblical leadership we need to glean from successful leaders as well as leaders that we feel like did not honor the Lord. What can we glean from them? What did they do well? What did they not do well? And I say that to say, as we compared David and Saul, both David and Saul had very impressive victories, right? Especially victories in the battlefield. But the key difference between the two is that David would repent. He saw his sin and he would go back and repent before the Lord. And I say that to say one metric, and it's an important metric of leadership, should be a humble heart. Should be a following after the Lord, after Jesus, modeling our lives after him, but a heart that's humble, aware of what's going on inside, and repenting of whatever we need to repent of. I've shared before about Jesus at the Last Supper and it says that he knew he'd come from the Father, returned to the Father, that the Lord had given him dominion over everything. And so what did he do? He washed their feet. You see this incredible picture of humility. So my encouragement for you is, in your metrics of leadership, and I realize there'd be many, make sure we include humility in the heart. When David's called a man after God's own heart, I do believe that he desired the same things that God the Father desires. But I believe that also he had a heart of repentance. He had remorse over his sin, and his heart was convinced that the Lord's love was better than life. Blessings to you today. I hope this metric's encouraging to you, and it just reminds me of, reminds you, reminds me of what's important. As I've said before, it's just important to make sure we keep the main things the main things, not get hung up on subordinate lesser important things. And I believe the character of Christ in our leadership is far more important than a personality type, or even a specific spiritual gift. Blessings to you.
