Hey faith-based friends and family just wanted to share a third devotional on metrics and it has to do with what I would call being strong we can have a secular idea of what does it mean I've got to be strong for so-and-so for my family for this person and I just want to stress that this doesn't necessarily mean the absence of emotion Jeremiah was referred to as the weeping prophet David actually communicates deep anguish of soul weeps bitterly at times Jesus wept so I want to make sure that I stress that being strong doesn't mean preventing them ourselves from feeling deeply or from showing emotion I just say that as someone who I remember being in a season of very intense gringing man it's such a long hard season and grieving is different for everyone and the grieving still hits me on occasion and it's been over 13 years but I felt in my spirit I had to be strong for my family but I didn't realize that actually the healthiest thing I could do was to feel the appropriate emotions you know again not permission to sin absolutely not but make sure you know that being strong is not the absence of emotion I think that we're really like David you know called a man after God's own heart and we do where you're very aware of what's going on in our hearts and being strong has to do with with seeking Lord and perseverance in other word for a character with loving deeply making wise decisions having good judgment you know choosing a long term over the short term being so convinced just like David that his ways are better and being convinced that his love is better than life would you love that verse from Psalm 63 because it even so my soul clings to you because your love is better than life so what our hearts take hold of that truth more powerfully than ever that his love is better than life and clinging to him or that be what makes us strong a trust in him our steadfastness. Blessings to you today.
