Hello, Faith-Based Family, I'm Isaac McGemsey. And I am Jackie McGemsey. And we're coming with our second installment of the devotional, The Essentials of Prayer. We talked about how to pray and the importance of it, we want to say what the essentials of prayer is. So, Jackie, I got a question for you. Can we all just get along? You know, that's funny you ask it like that when you say that the first thing that comes to mind is that little Otis Redding song, let's try a little tenderness, because, you know, God gave us prayer. And if we can be tender with people, and learn to interact, because, you know, God made each of us perfect, perfect in his sight. So in saying that, we must learn how to celebrate the differences in each other. You know, we had a big family, five, six kids coming in and out the house at a time. And in saying that, we had to teach each of them how to get along with one another. And we did a lot of that through prayer. If we can pray together, we can stay together. So you know, teaching the children the importance of prayer, and if they have a difficulty with somebody that doesn't make them bad, that makes them different. And just because they're different doesn't mean we can't get along. And the way we get along is we pray. You know, it reminds me scripturally, in Matthew 18, 19, and 21, Jesus taught, he was teaching the disciples how to pray, and he says, if any two of you on earth will come together touching and agreeing, and he says that if you pray to the Father, number one, he'll answer. But secondly, he says, where two are gathered in his name, he would be in the midst. You know, I'm so reminded of the different personalities Jesus had to deal with. I'm wondering about the personalities we had to deal with. So we all have to deal with people who have different agendas, different purposes, different things to have going on. But one rallying point can be prayer. If we can come together, humble ourselves, then we know that God will be in the midst. Hey, family. So as we say, when two are gathered in his name, God is in the midst. So we encourage you today, this week, for the next upcoming weeks, come together, touch hands, and pray together.
