Jesus Christ is our mediator, and through the Holy Spirit, God's Word is given to us directly in the Bible. We don't need human intermediaries. We should embrace God's commands and love God and our neighbors.

All right, I'm back at you. Same evening, I know, this is not the way I usually do things, but this is really on my heart and I really want to get to at least this introduction, go through the introduction to the Ten Commandments, and we'll actually be looking at the First Commandment, not this episode, but the next, because I'm reminded of how God said that I am the Lord, I am Yahweh, your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery. And what strikes me there is how we, as followers of Jesus Christ, have a much more profound rescue, that we can look to the Lord God with great joy, great admiration and appreciation, I guess I should say, and love, because we have been rescued, not simply from a place on a map, from Egypt, but we have been rescued from eternal damnation. We have been forgiven our sins. We have been brought from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. And so as we think about the Ten Commandments, as we think about expressing that law that's been written upon our heart, my goodness, what a tremendous motivation for doing so. What an amazing thing that has been done for us. It is far more profound, as I mentioned, to move a person from a place of sinfulness and darkness to a place of righteousness and life, and that's what Jesus Christ has done for us. So we've been rescued from the slavery to sin. We've been rescued from the slavery to self and to all the horrible things that are expressed in a life that is devoid of Jesus Christ. So that's what I want to focus on primarily this episode, and I guess that's where I'm going with this for the last couple, three episodes here, is that I wanted to get to this point, because if you're like me, when you think about your life apart from Jesus Christ, what it would be like apart from Jesus Christ, or perhaps you have a testimony where you could actually speak to what it was like apart from our Lord Jesus Christ, it should be something that almost brings you to tears, as you consider the love of Jesus Christ, that He died on the cross, that we might have life, that our sins are forgiven, that His blood has washed away our sins, and if we do fall to sin again, if we confess those sins, He's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. What a wonderful motivation for expressing that law that God has placed upon our heart. What a wonderful opportunity to show the world that we are a new creation in Jesus Christ, that He has rescued us from sin and darkness, just as God rescued the Israelites from the land of Egypt and from the place of slavery. So that's what I want you to think about today, and I think this is where I'm going to end this night recording of these episodes, but I did want to get to this point, because this is everything. Jesus Christ has saved us. If you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord with your mouth and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, then you shall be saved. One of these days we're going to get to talking about salvation, thinking about salvation, but for now, as we continue this series, thinking about God's law, this is something that I want you to have as a foundation to the rest of your thinking about God's law, that Jesus Christ has rescued you from slavery to sin and from the kingdom of darkness. God bless you. I'll see you next episode.
