Hello, so nice to see you again. Welcome back. I truly appreciate you taking the time to really come and be with me in preparation for reading the devotion for today. As it is our custom that we share briefly that what we do is just a cursory summary of the devotion and hopefully enough to whet your appetite to the point that you will say I gotta read it and I want to know what's there and I look forward to your feedback on a regular basis. Today's devotion or Dr. J's thought is walking by faith in authenticity, humility, and kindness. Walking by faith in authenticity, humility, and kindness. One could say that's a mouthful. One could also say it's easier said than done. But I like to suggest to you that the power of authenticity, humility, and kindness will promote excellence, success, and victory while walking by faith and trusting in God. There's more to that. You gotta read the devotion. Micah 6 and 8 NIV version says, which is our scripture reading for today, says that he has shown you, O mortal man, O mortal, what is good and what does the Lord require of you to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with God. As we are admonished in our thoughts and our devotional today to walk by faith in authenticity, humility, and kindness. In other words, be real. Be humble. Be considerate. Maintain that attitude of gratitude that allows you to embrace failure as a beginning of your comeback story. Through consistency, growth, trust, unity, and faith, we shape our destiny. The integrity that we elect to have in Jesus based on the intimate relationship with him and the principles that he has set forth in his word, such as trust, unity, faith, it shapes our destiny. Such as doing the right thing when no one else is looking because it's the right thing to do. Being a person of integrity and speaking the conviction of your heart, even if you are wrong, even if you're tore up from the floor, be authentic enough to say, this is what I believe. Have a backbone. You know, I spent almost 30 years in the military and the one thing that I've learned is that they would say that the NCO is the backbone of the military, of the army. And there's a lot of truth. We must have a backbone. We can't afford to be like jellyfish in this day and age. We have to stand for what is right. And we have to stand based on our conviction, given what thus says the word of God. And even when you're doing so, walk by faith, keeping it real, being humble, being the kind of person that operates in gratitude and kindness, but being a principle-centered person. Stephen Covey wrote a book about being principle-centered. It's worthy of a read if you have not read it already. The scripture tells us to count it all joy when we fall into divers temptation. I want to say count it all joy as you're in the midst of uncertainty and ambiguity, knowing that even though you might stumble and even though you might fall, that's not the end of the story. That's the end of one chapter and the opportunity to begin the next. On my growth journey, I have been embracing the reality that failure is not an end, but the beginning of one's comeback story.
