Good afternoon, or good morning, or for some, good evening, depending on where you are located when you're viewing this devotional. Today's devotional is entitled, Navigating Change, Embracing Adversity, A Guide to Success and Growth. Our scripture reading comes from Isaiah, the 43rd chapter, verse 2 from the NIV version. And it reads, when you pass through the waters, I will be with you. And when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned. The flames will not set you ablaze. Wouldn't it be amazing to be able to know that if you had to be thrown in the fire, like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you would not have to worry and be well assured that Jesus would be there to fix it. As we navigate change and embrace adversity, I do want to encourage you that Jesus is there in that fiery furnace with you, in that challenging moment with you, in the midst of that ambiguity with you, in the midst of that uncertainty with you, and that he will be there to guide you and to support you and to be the answer to your unanswered questions. In the devotional, I offer three steps initially as we begin to navigate change. I encourage to start with a clear vision, articulate the rationale behind the ideas, and articulate the rationale in such a way that you implement change incrementally. You know, when I was writing the article, you will find that I shared after step one, start with a clear vision, a quote from the great Helen Keller. She said, the only thing worse than being blind is having sight and no vision. If we don't realize that God is our present help in time of trouble, that he will guide us in the midst of the uncertainty that we find ourselves, we would be in the condition and in situation that Helen Keller spoke of.
