Your gifts, day 10, the beans or the background. This study is designed to introduce you to some of the spiritual gifts listed in the Bible, and hopefully as you learn a little bit more about them, you'll be able to identify your own strengths. When we know our gifts and begin using them well, that is when our faith truly opens up, and we begin to see a major difference in our hearts and lives, and in the lives of those around us. The verse, 1 Timothy chapter four, verse 12. Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity. The fill, what's the point? Today's spiritual gift is leadership. You are called to go out and start a Bible study, and go. Ha, just kidding. By this point in the writing for the week, I needed a little humor. I can't tell you how many friends of mine, some that I go to church with, who are amazingly talented people, and interpret scripture in beautiful ways, but they're still hesitant to share. Their thoughts that some have shared with me are, I'm new to this whole faith thing. I don't wanna say anything that will embarrass me. So many people are terrified of looking dumb in Bible studies or Sunday school classes, so they don't speak up, or they don't attend, even if they really want to. If this is you, friend, please don't be afraid to go out there and give it a try. Even the most devout preachers have their doubts, and questions they can't make sense of. Think about it this way. God is so big that none of us will ever get it all, or arrive in our faith. No one will ever discover and understand it all. So, realizing that we are all young in our faith understanding, remembering that we all have something to offer, and we can learn from one another. Regardless if you have been a follower of Jesus your entire life, or are just coming to know Jesus, you have something to offer. Through your love, devotion, and actions, others are coming to see and understand Jesus a little more. Remember, if he calls you to do something, share something, he will equip you with the tools necessary to do it. You are not alone. The steam. What does this mean to me, and how can I apply it to my life today? To help you identify what your spiritual gifts are, there are several tools and tests you can take for free online. Or to help you begin thinking about it, I encourage you to spend the course of this study reflecting on the following questions. Number one, what do you enjoy doing? Number two, when you hear about people helping others, do you feel drawn to specific stories? Maybe about children, those living in poverty, or racial equality? Number three, ask someone who knows you well what gifts they see in you. What do they think you are the best at?
