Your gifts day three. The beans or the background. Each of us are gifted with specific abilities and talents and as you can imagine when all of these gifts and talents come together, members of the body of Christ working together, that is when we function the best. This study is designed to introduce you to some of the spiritual gifts listed in the Bible and hopefully as you learn a little more about them you'll be able to identify your own strengths. When we know our gifts and begin using them well, that is when our faith truly opens up and we begin to see a major difference in our hearts and lives and in the lives of others around us. The verse Galatians chapter 5 verses 13 through 14. You my brothers and sisters were called to be free but do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh wrath but rather serve one another humbly in love for the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command love your neighbor as yourself. The fill. What's the point? Today's spiritual gift is serving. As followers of Jesus we do have freedom. Freedom from sin yet unfortunately we abuse this freedom. Since I'm forgiven anyways I'm just gonna go ahead and blank. While you may not consciously think these thoughts before you act, the habits we have, the lives that we lead, in fact make this a true statement. We have this amazing gift that is free to any and everyone. Why would we not want to share it with others? But I get it. Life is chaotic, busy, you can hardly make time for your family or yourself much less others. Thankfully offering love, serving others is not like the community service hours we had to log in high school. That is the beauty of grace. There is no specified way to give it, no specified time of service or people to serve. We are called to serve our spouse, our children, our parents, friends, family members, strangers, everyone. Cooking dinner with the right mindset and attitude serves your family. Helping your child with their homework is serving. I will say that while serving your family is extremely important, I also fully believe that we should get outside of the home and focus on other people in the world. Taking the focus off of ourselves and on in our own lives and agendas for just a moment. I believe that we are the most blessed when we get out of our comfort zones and get involved in helping others. However, I understand that through different seasons of life you can't give of your time as freely as you can in other seasons. But hopefully even if it's simply sharing a smile with someone who seems to be having a difficult day, you'll be able to find ways to serve those around you. Esteem. What does this mean to me and how can I apply it to my life today? To help you identify what your spiritual gifts are, there are several tools and tests you can take for free online. Or to help you begin thinking about it, I encourage you to spend the course of this study reflecting on the following questions. What do you enjoy doing? When you hear about people helping others, do you feel drawn to specific stories? I.e. children, those living in poverty, racial equality. Ask someone who knows you well what gifts they see in you. What do they think you would be best at?
