Regardless, Valentinus stands as a witness of the sanctity of marriage and also a representative for couples. I think it should be a day of evangelism, using it as a springboard to celebrate the ultimate sacrifice in the name of love, i.e. Christ giving himself for the bride. For those of us who are married, marriage should not be just a union, but should be a visible sermon of that sacrifice, Christ giving himself for the church.
