Greetings and salutations. It's another day's journey and I'm so glad that we can come together to share this devotion in this time of devotion in which we can pray together, share scripture, share a thought, and hopefully share moments of joy and spiritual revelation. Let's get ready for a transformative moment in time with our Lord. Let us pray. Gracious God, we thank you for this day. We thank you for the opportunity to come before you, looking to you, the author and finisher of our faith, our Alpha and our Omega, our beginning and our end, the first and the last. We ask you, O God, that you would allow this devotion this day to help someone along the way so that they can be able to say unto you, Lord, I thank you. I thank you for healing. I thank you for revelation. I thank you for education. I thank you for helping me to find that new place where we might dwell in your secret place in the Most High. In the name of Jesus, amen and amen. Well, we're so happy to be here with you again, as we mentioned, and we look forward to sharing today's thought with you and hoping that you will do as we oftentimes talk about, and that is that you will take our time together that is really designed to be a summary of the written devotion that you can then, we whet your appetite and you go and say, well, let me read the full devotion. So keep in mind, you're only getting a part, a very snippet of what the devotion has to offer. So please make it your business to read it and be blessed. Today's Dr. J's thought is navigating disappointment with resiliency, navigating disappointment with resiliency. Our scripture is Romans 5, verse 3 through 4, Romans 5, verse 3 through 4, and it's coming from the NIV version. Let us hear God's word. Not only so, but we also glory in our suffering because we know that the suffering produced, we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance, character, and character, hope. Amid setbacks, our actions speak louder than knowledge. Resiliency is the compass guiding us towards what I like to call true north and others would call future success. You'll see that again in your reading. My personal journey, I've embraced the truth that failure marks a fresh start, not the end as oftentimes many would have you believe, and you've heard it spoken of as such. But through unwavering determination and perseverance, we triumph over adversity, creating remarkable comebacks. In these challenging times, if we're honest, God is doing something unique and special for us and within us. You know, those challenging times are times of education and revelation. It's a time for growing and sharpening our swords and perfecting our purpose and our calling. It's a time of making our calling and election sure. It's a time of searching and yearning, but it's also a time that we are preparing ourselves and sometime inspiring ourselves for our own individual comeback story. You see, when we are at the potter's house, as I like to say, when we're at school, the school of hard knocks, the school in which God is taking us through that trying period. It's a time of navigating. It's a time of disappointment, but it's resiliency, renewal, and transformation that we have within our persistency to be better and do better, that we are able to overcome and take the pain and turn it into gain, gaining new insight, gaining new knowledge, gaining new revelation, gaining appreciation for things that we never understood, but we can't understand certain things unless we're tried in the fire, like the Hebrew boys. Sometimes we're going to find ourselves like Daniel in the lion's den. Sometime we're going to find ourselves wondering, like Jesus, can you, why can't they stay awake, watch and pray like I asked them to? You see, sometime you're going to have to go through to get through and it's not going to be comfortable. It's not going to be the way you want it to be, but I guarantee you, like Shadrach and Meshach and Abednego will tell you, if they could share with you right now, God will show up when you are in that fiery furnace. There will be someone staring in, like the scripture says, and it says, it looks like I see a fourth one and he looks like the son of God. I'm trying to encourage you that as you're navigating through disappointment with resiliency, realize that you also have that touch upon you, that touch that transform, that touch that ordains, that touch that unifies, that touch that makes you more than a conqueror, that touch that heals. Yes, I took the word touch and turned it into an acronym, but that touch that God will bring to you and for you to help you when you feel like you have reached that last step of the way, that last point and you can't go any further. Know that it's a turning point, it's a pivotal position, but keep your disposition, rest enruled within the humility of counting it all joy when you fall into diverse temptation, knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience and be well assured that God is not mocked. He says in his word, what will be and it will be, and he will be there to be your comfort. He will be there to be your guide. He will be there to navigate you in the midst of disappointment with resiliency, with renewal, with regeneration, with revelation, and with new levels of education. You just got to trust him with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge and let him direct your path. Let him navigate. Let him guide you. I don't know how you feel about this, but when you're in the hands of Jesus, you're in the good hand. You're in hands that loved you before the foundation of the earth. You're in the hands of the God who created you. Do you think he brought you this far? To leave you? You're going through because you have great promise. You're going through because you have greatness inside of you. You are going through because you've been called to a higher height and a deeper depth because you are been called to operate in a purpose and in a divine calling in such a way that if you're not prepared, you'll become weary in well-doing. So trust God, believe God, and know that it's not what you're going through, it's what you're going to, and he's taking you to that greater place, and he's navigating you through disappointment with resiliency, renewal, regeneration. Trust God with all your heart.
